I recently implemented a direct mail campaign to drum up some new business. I thought it might be a nice thing to take a variation of the design I created for myself and put it out there for other small business owners to use. This design is for a slightly over-sized postcard of 8.5″ x 5.5″. The template includes a .25″ margin making the actual card dimensions are 8.75″ x 5.75″. This extra 1/4 inch accommodates .125″ needed for bleed and .125″ needed for the safety area. Keep everything (text, images, etc) inside the margin and nothing should get cut off when the card is trimmed to size.
The mailing side of the postcard contains the appropriate space for USPS mailing address to be printed. So you can send these to a mail house for bulk mailing. It also has three sections for offers… you always gotta give out some free stuff with your advertising.
The color scheme is decidedly techy with the obligatory blue/orange combo. I inserted references to a fictional company from a famous movie to design this generic template: Initech. Does anyone know what movie it is from 1999?
The below link will download a compressed folder that includes all the files for this postcard: images, fonts, and copy. Here is what the postcard looks like:
If you use this design and you’re feeling generous, please feel free to place a link to my website, blog, fb page, etc. I’d appreciate it.
